Explaining why authorities came to Anne’s home, she added: “That’s at least part of the reason why Anne’s home is so closely investigated.”

The former agent then shared insights into cases they deemed “interesting.” “But why would LE go to Anne’s neighbors to ask for their consent to search their property? That’s very interesting,” Coffindaffer added.

A report by a local reporter hinted at why authorities may have been searching Anne’s neighborhood. “On Tuesday, neighbor Robert Reinhart quoted another statement law enforcement told him during an event in Annie Guthrie’s neighborhood. ‘I believe they said if someone threw a camera out of a car window, we would check the entire neighborhood,'” KVOA reporter wrote on X.

Guthrie’s children include Anne, Today show host Savannah and brother Camron. Investigators believe time is of the essence in this case given Guthrie’s progress over the years, meaning she wouldn’t be doing well without her daily medications, which were found in the home where she was taken. There were reports that Guthrie suffered from heart problems, high blood pressure and used a pacemaker.
