Fresno residents fear possible explosion california A mysterious “cloud-like figure” appeared in the sky on Monday. However, this was not due to any explosion; rocket launch.
Although the situation eventually became clear, many people posted images of the sky wondering what was going on. “A mysterious cloud-like figure appeared in the sky! Viewers said it was a NASA Rocket. What do you think? ” asked one netizen on Facebook.
Several such videos were also posted on the Fresno Reddit forum. “Starlink will be launched at point 2 on April 6,” one netizen wrote while sharing the photo.
Another user added a video saying “Starlink Vandenberg SFB launch, April 6th.” The person added, “The timing of the release is great and it ends up looking great.”
Until then, some have wondered what’s in the sky. “What’s in the sky? Has anyone seen this in the southern sky? Any idea what it is?” they asked as they shared a photo where small white wisps could be seen.
While people online are beginning to understand that the smoke is related to the rocket launch, many are wondering why the smoke was visible in Fresno on Monday, so far away from the launch site.

Kris Kuyper of local channel KMPH Fox 26 National Weather Service also explained.
Kuyper explained that rocket launches are visible due to several factors – the size of the rocket and the time of launch. He reasoned that this was why many launches were less visible in Fresno, but not this one.
“Monday night’s rocket launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base was very visible in Fresno! Why was this one so visible and the others not? Two reasons,” he wrote.
The report added, “1. It has to be a bigger rocket. Tonight’s rocket is a SpaceX Falcon 9. Not as big as NASA’s Artemis, but big enough. 2. The main reason is timing. For Fresno to be able to see the launch from so far away, it has to launch at sunset, so our skies are getting dark, but the setting sun in the west (Vandenberg SFB is just to the southwest of us) can still light up the exhaust trail.”
Meanwhile, people who witnessed the incident also shared their experiences. one person wrote On Reddit, “It started moving upwards like a rocket, but then there was a puff of smoke and it looked like debris was falling.” Others additional “As seen from Clovis.” Clovis is about 197 miles from the launch site.
