New Delhi: Teen Pacemakers Dan Raza made history pakistan super league (PSL), becoming the youngest player from Pakistan to score a hat-trick. The 18-year-old achieved the milestone during the 32nd match of Peshawar Zalmi’s match against Karachi Kings at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.Raza’s brilliant performance marked the first hat-trick of the season and the first hat-trick in PSL history for a Peshawar Zalmi bowler.
The youngster showed remarkable composure under pressure to score 4 for 41 against lower order Karachi. Despite Jason Roy’s 85, his efforts limited Karachi to 182/9.This landmark effort places Raza’s name in the elite list of PSL hat-trick achievers since the inception of the tournament in 2016. The list starts with Mohammad Amir, who scored his first hat-trick in the league for Karachi Kings. Since then, players like Junaid Khan, Imran Tahir, the only spinner on the roster, and Mohammad Sami have created memorable spells.Recent editions have seen match-defining efforts from Abbas Afridi and Akeal Hosein, but Raza’s feat stood out for its sheer precocity. At just 18 years old, he has set a new benchmark in the game for young bowlers.Interestingly, this is not the first time this season that Karachi Kings have been on the receiving end. Earlier in PSL 2026, they suffered a record 159-run defeat, the biggest deficit in the league’s history, further underlining their struggles.Raza’s breakthrough performance not only highlighted his immense potential but also gave Peshawar Zalmi a huge boost as the match entered the decisive stages.
