New Delhi: NCP(SP) Secretary General Rohit Pawar A letter was written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asking Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to resign until the investigation into the January 28 air crash that killed former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar is completed. He also called for an independent and transparent investigation into the incident. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rohit Pawar raised concerns about charter company VSR, which owns the ill-fated Learjet 45 aircraft, and claimed there may be links that require an independent review, the Press Trust reported. “Serious questions have been raised about VSR Corporation and its links with Rammohan Naidu Party (TDP). These links must be investigated by independent authorities, preferably in cooperation with international agencies,” Pawar said in the letter. While seeking the minister’s resignation, he wrote: “You have always shown respect for Ajit Dadar and his contribution to the country. In this context, I request Rammohan Naidu to resign until the investigation is completed. This is necessary to ensure that there is no influence or interference in the investigation into whether the DGCA has been compromised in any way in relation to VSR.”Rohit Pawar told a news conference that the circumstances of the crash warranted further investigation and suggested that the possibility of conspiracy must be explored.“If we talk about conspiracy, there could be two types of conspiracy: political and commercial. We want to find out which one it is. The other thing is if there are people supporting or protecting the VSR company that is responsible for this, that could also be a conspiracy. There are so many powerful people behind this company. DGCA officials are behind this,” he said.He called on the country’s senior leaders to intervene directly, “but if this investigation needs to be brought to justice, only the most powerful people in India like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah can get justice for Ajit Dadar because the others involved are also powerful. I request them to personally handle this investigation.” I will be sending a letter to Prime Minister Modi via email today...The aviation minister must resign. This is our request. “Rohit Pawar also raised questions about technical aspects of the crash, including the plane’s black boxes and the possible cause of the fire.“We had doubts about the black box. When the accident occurred, there was not just one explosion, but multiple explosions… The VSR company that operated the flight had many problems. They are mechanical, maintenance issues. There was an area where the luggage was stored and extra petrol cans were stored there and that’s what caused the fire so that needs to be investigated,” he said.On the morning of January 28, Ajit Pawar and four others died when their plane crashed near the Baramati Airport in Pune district while trying to land. Leaders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (SP), Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress party have raised questions about the incident and hinted at the possibility of foul play.
