But for Aaron, the knock was less of a surprise and more reflective of a long-standing process of trust.“I think he has always been very mature and has been so for the past few years. You can’t become the number one T20 batsman in the world without maturity. Obviously, he’s a guy that can see an opponent, see the surface and decide to play a certain way,” Aaron said after the game.“You have to give him this leeway”Aaron emphasized that Abhishek’s high-risk, high-reward style will naturally bring volatility, and it is crucial to support such a player through failure.“Today, you can’t fight for every ball on the pitch. So you have to respect the opponent, you have to respect the pitch and that’s exactly what he did,” he explained.“I think he’s seen that in the past, but obviously when you play a high-risk, high-reward game, sometimes it doesn’t work out and you have to make room for players like Abhishek.”The innings marked Abhishek’s continued resurgence after a shaky start earlier in the year, cementing his reputation as one of the most dangerous T20 batsmen.Bowlers support big totalWhile Abhishek got the win, SRH’s bowlers ensured that the result was never in doubt. Eshan Malinga led the way with a decisive four-wicket haul while young pacer Sakib Hussain’s transformation was impressive.“They have a skill set that makes them special… Malinga can get the reverse ball even in the 11th or 12th over, which is difficult for the opponents. He can execute yorkers, has great off-speed balls and can bowl 140-plus balls,” Aaron said. “It’s great for Saqib to have slow balls…the same arm speed, executing his yorkers, can bowl 140-plus balls as well.”Aaron revealed that SRH’s strategy this season is to build a bowling team that can adapt to various conditions.
