New Delhi: NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune after his health deteriorated while at his residence in Baramati on Monday. His office said the veteran leader complained of coughing and difficulty breathing, prompting the decision to transfer him to the city for medical care, news agency ANI reported.The 85-year-old opposition leader was transferred by road and his convoy left Baramati for Pune. The video shows Pawar’s convoy passing by Lonikarbo on its way to the hospital.

Throat infection Listed as an issue of current concern
Pawar was admitted to the hospital with a sore throat and persistent cough, the Press Trust of India news agency reported. A close aide told the news agency that he had a throat infection and was being transferred to the Ruby Hall Clinic for further testing and treatment.
Doctors assess the condition upon arrival
Dr Parvez Grant, chief cardiologist and managing trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, confirmed that Pawar has been admitted to hospital. “Upon arrival, a team of doctors will examine him and decide the further course of action accordingly,” Dr Grant was quoted as saying by PTI.Senior politician and former federal minister Sharad Pawar has remained active in public life despite age-related health issues in recent years.
