New Delhi: India on Wednesday strongly rejected PakistanThe statement supported the banned terror group and claimed Islamabad had “no position” to comment on the country’s internal affairs. He urged it to “reflect on the systemic human rights abuses it continues to commit” and not “peddle lies and frivolous narratives”.“Responding to media queries, Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said: “We categorically reject Pakistan’s statement of support for banned terrorist organizations and their members. Pakistan has no position to comment on India’s internal affairs or its judicial proceedings.”He added that such remarks were not surprising given Pakistan’s record. “However, one is not surprised that a country that has long supported terrorism comes out with such a statement condoning violence and the killing of innocent people,” Jaiswal said.Pakistan’s response came after it issued a statement on judicial proceedings in India related to banned terror groups. Also read: Middle East tensions ripple through Pakistan’s fragile economy – fuel costs soar and household bills pile upJaiswal also urged Pakistan to reflect on its record rather than level baseless accusations. “Instead of peddling lies and frivolous narratives, Pakistan should reflect on the serious and systemic human rights violations it continues to commit,” he said.India has consistently maintained that matters involving its internal security and judicial operations are matters of sovereignty and has repeatedly called on Pakistan to stop supporting terrorism and cross-border activities.
