A man standing in his front yard in Laguna Beach captured the moment loud citywide emergency sirens flooded the area.
“I think Southern California might be in some danger,” the man said in the video. “I’m at home in Laguna Beach right now and there’s a full-blown emergency, like a bomb siren going off.”
“Man, I felt like we were in a futuristic movie because you couldn’t see speakers anywhere and the whole alarm system was going off all over the city,” he added.

While a continuous warning tone echoed through the community, residents were unable to identify the visible source of the sound.
“I really thought we were being attacked by a nuke,” the man said.
The city of Laguna Beach said this was a test of its outdoor alarm system. However, netizens were not ready to believe this explanation.

“The City of Laguna Beach will conduct a public test of the outdoor alarm system next Tuesday, March 24, at 4 p.m.,” the city said in a March 21 post. “The test will sound a loud siren and alert message on 23 speakers/sirens throughout the city for approximately one minute.”
