New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students from across the country at a special program on Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026, providing guidance on exams, personal growth, discipline, leadership, use of technology and nation-building ahead of the exam season.While interacting with students in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Modi Expressing happiness over their aspirations, he said, “I am happy to see the students of class 10 and 12 in our country also embracing the dream of Viksit Bharat 2047. This is a very happy thing for me.” He stressed the importance of disciplined habits, adding, “We should adopt the habits of developed countries – turn off the engine at red lights, leave no food behind, reduce waste… Discipline is very important in our life…”Regarding the use of technology, the Prime Minister advised students not to let smartphones or artificial intelligence dominate their lives. “We should try not to let AI or mobile devices take over; some children won’t eat unless they see a smartphone. We can use AI effectively,” he said.Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of physical and mental health and emphasized the need for proper rest. “The second big thing, and the thing that people don’t care about today, is sleep. One has to have a good night’s sleep. After a full night’s sleep, your mind remains in a pleasant state for the rest of the time.” He also reflected on his long association with students, adding: “For many years, I have been interacting with students in classes 10 and 12 through Pariksha Pe Charcha. I engage in these conversations to learn, not to teach.”In another meeting with students from Raipur in Chhattisgarh, PM Modi shared the traditional local snacks of Thethri and Khurmi. When asked to recommend five travel destinations for students, he suggested they start by making a list of places near their region, city and state before making a decision.Prime Minister Modi also encouraged students to support their weaker classmates. “Students should make friends with them and explain topics to them,” he said, adding that teaching others also helps in learning better. He stressed the importance of balancing sports with studies and reminded students to keep in mind the mantra “Khelogey to khilogey”.Prime Minister Modi said: “To be a leader, develop a mindset to take initiative… Leadership does not only mean participating in elections, but a good leader should communicate ideas clearly and effectively.”Prime Minister Modi also interacted with students last week, providing guidance on exams, personal growth, skills, use of technology and nation-building ahead of the board exam season. During the meeting, he held a wide-ranging discussion with students, covering topics such as exam pressure, time management, leadership, health and pursuing dreams. The students also performed songs they composed for him, demonstrating their creativity.The 2026 edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha is designed to help students remain stress-free during exams while promoting greater focus on learning, in line with the National Education Policy 2020.
