IPL 2026: CSK inducts Suresh Raina, Matthew Hayden into Hall of Fame for first time

chennai super kings On Sunday, a major milestone in their history was unveiled with the introduction of Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden Inducted into the team’s inaugural Hall of Fame class. The honor was announced during the fan engagement event ‘Roar’26’ held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.Raina is one of the most iconic figures in CSK’s journey, having represented the franchise from its inception in 2008 to 2021. He played a central role in four championship campaigns in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. Popularly known as ‘Chinna Thala’ among the supporters, he was also part of the team’s Champions League T20 title win in 2010 and 2010. In 2014, he won the latter’s Player of the Tournament award with 234 points.He remains CSK’s leading run-scorer with 5529 runs, including two centuries and 38 half-centuries in his career with the team.Hayden, meanwhile, worked with CSK between 2008 and 2010 and contributed to their early success. The former Australia opener was part of the 2010 IPL winning team and won the Orange Cap in the 2009 season with 572 runs, becoming the first CSK player to achieve the feat.During his time with the team, Hayden scored 1117 runs and recorded 8 half-centuries.Several former CSK players were also present at the event including Muttiah Muralitharan, Ambati Rayudu, Lakshmipathy Balaji, S Badrinath and Michael Husseyadding a celebratory atmosphere to this landmark moment for the team. CSK will play their first match against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on Monday, March 30.
