As the Middle East conflict entered its 19th day on Wednesday, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said India could help broker a ceasefire between the United States, Israel and Iran.He made the above remarks in an interview with Bloomberg Television.“We need a ceasefire… I just wonder if the Europeans or indeed India can be involved in that,” Stuab told Bloomberg TV. “We’ve seen External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar call for a ceasefire and negotiations just to calm the situation and freeze it.”

He added, “In this case, the three actors – Israel, the United States and Iran – all have more or less different interests and it is difficult for them to organize themselves into a peaceful situation.”Previously, Hussain Hassan Mirza, the first UAE Ambassador to India, also said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Conflicts can be resolved with a single call.“A phone call from Mr. Modi to his counterparts in Iran and Israel can solve this problem, can end this problem. One phone call,” Mirza told an Indian news channel.U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that Iran is ready to negotiate a ceasefire. However, Tehran insists there will be no ceasefire.The conflict in the Middle East began on February 28 with coordinated attacks by the United States and Israel across the Islamic Republic. Tehran launched retaliatory attacks against U.S. military bases in the Gulf and infrastructure in regional countries where U.S. troops are stationed, further exacerbating tensions in West Asia.
