The tragedy occurred around 2:15 am on Wednesday when three minor sisters jumped from the ninth floor apartment of a tower in Bharat city under the jurisdiction of Tillamore police station in Sahibabad area of ​​Ghaziabad.All family members are staying at their residence in Ghaziabad.Assistant Commissioner of Police (Shalimar Garden) Atul Kumar Singh said preliminary investigation revealed that the three sisters were addicted to the Korean mission-based interactive “love game”. He said their parents had objected to their excessive use of mobile phones in recent days.Deputy Commissioner of Police Nimish Patil said further investigation revealed that the girls were heavily influenced by Korean content and spent a lot of time on their mobile phones.“The family has restricted their cell phone use over the past few days, which has distressed them and may have contributed to their decision (to take extreme measures),” he said.Police said on reaching the spot, they found the three girls – Chetan Kumar’s daughters Nishika (16), Prachi (14) and Pakhi (12) lying on the first floor with serious injuries. They were taken by ambulance to a hospital in Loney, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.According to police, the sisters were addicted to online games during the Covid-19 period and frequently played Korean games, mostly together.“The three of them do everything together – from bathing, eating, sleeping to going to school,” said ACP Singh.DCP Patil said the education of the girls was irregular and they were not attending school for the past two years. Even earlier, their academic performance was not satisfactory, he added.He said it was unclear when the mobile phone and gaming addiction began and the investigation was still in its early stages. However, it was clear that the girls were very addicted to mobile phone use, he said.Officials said the incident occurred late at night when other family members were asleep.During the investigation, police found a diary from the girl’s stationery containing material related to the incident.A note was found in the diary that read “Read everything written in this diary, it’s here,” along with a crying face emoji and a handwritten message that read, “I’m sorry Dad, I’m really sorry.”Police said the exact circumstances that led the sisters to take the extreme step are still under investigation and statements from family members are being recorded.
