New Delhi: India had a mixed performance at the Swiss Open on Wednesday, registering some impressive wins but also a few early exits. The biggest highlight came from Kieran George, who defeated Singapore’s former world champion Law Kin Yew in straight sets. Kieran, ranked 42nd in the world, defeated the third seed 23-21, 21-19 in the first round and will next face Hong Kong player Jason Gunawan. However, Gunawan eliminated the former world no. H Amsakarunan and MR Arjun also advanced after defeating Chinese Taipei’s Chen Zhilei and Lin Yujie 21-16, 24-22.
