A potentially damaging rain-wrapped tornado was spotted in Newton County’s Lake Village, Indiana Tuesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) placed Newton County under a tornado warning until 7:30 p.m. Central Time.

The National Weather Service said in an update that conditions were “life-threatening” after a tornado hit Lake Village and asked residents to seek shelter. The update warned of a damaging tornado with hail up to two inches in size.
