Kansas City International Airport receives bomb threat, passengers told to evacuate immediately

Passengers were asked to evacuate Kansas City International Airport due to reports of a bomb threat. The evacuations reportedly began around 11:50 a.m. local time on Sunday, according to a social media post on X. Others reported people moving from Concourse B to Concourse A and being filtered through the stairs onto the tarmac as “emergency sirens” blared in the background.“We were all told to immediately go to the A.K9 lobby and staff everywhere. There are no aircraft on the tarmac,” one passenger wrote online.“Kansas City Aviation is aware of the situation at Kansas City International Airport (MCI),” an airport spokesperson said. “As a precautionary measure, the department has partially evacuated the airport terminal.“The FBI is aware of this incident and our personnel are working with city and airport partners to determine the credibility of the threat,” an FBI spokesperson said. Flights to and from the airport have been grounded. Traffic has also been diverted away from the airport.
