New Delhi: congress leader Rahul Gandhi Question the Prime Minister on Saturday Narendra Modi On the timing of an interim trade agreement between India and the United States.Addressing a rally at Mazdoor Kisan Mahal in Barnala, Punjab, Rahul said the agreement had been stalled for four months due to differences over opening up the agriculture sector.“Then the question is, why did the prime minister finish it in 15 minutes when he didn’t do it for four months?” he asked. “The Prime Minister of India has signed a death warrant for our country, how much pressure this has put on us. He has signed a death warrant for our farmers. He has leaked our data. He has signed a death warrant for our small and medium industries,” he claimed.Rahul further said that the Prime Minister assured US President Donald Trump that India would buy US products worth Rs 900 million every year. He said opening up the agriculture sector would allow US goods to enter the Indian market and harm farmers in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.“Narendra Modi has opened the doors to the agriculture sector. American goods will flow in and our farmers will be devastated,” he said. “No Indian prime minister, whether from the Congress, the BJP or any other party, can open up the agriculture sector. No prime minister can.”Rahul further claimed that he was not allowed to address the Lok Sabha after the President’s address as he wanted to quote from an unpublished book by former Army Chief Manoj Naravane (retd). He claimed that the memoirs described a lack of reaction from the political leadership during China’s troop movements near the border.“Only the Prime Minister of the country can give orders to fire on Chinese troops. Neither the Army Chief nor the Defense Minister can give orders. Naravane Ji asked the Prime Minister if he could fire and stop them. There was no response for two hours. After that, Naravane Ji was given orders to do whatever he thought appropriate,” he said.
