Among them were Sheriff Robert Milby, Sheriff Scott Byrd and Sheriff Chris Stratton, who were invited by Republican lawmakers to be part of the guest list.

Sheriff Robert Milby

Sheriff Robert Milby is the elected Sheriff of Wayne County, New York. Sheriff Milby will enter his second term after being re-elected in January 2026.

He has positioned himself as a law enforcement leader focused on maintaining public safety while managing tensions over immigration enforcement within the community. According to Fingerlakes.com, Milby has been working to facilitate communication between his office and ICE to avoid conflicts.

Last year, Milby traveled south to study immigration enforcement and met with officials including Trump’s nominee for border czar, Tom Homan.

He said that while Wayne County will not serve as a shelter, his administration will not support ICE without concrete evidence.

Sheriff Chris Stratton

Sheriff Chris Stratton is the elected Sheriff of Clermont County, Ohio. Stratton previously served as chief deputy and rose through the ranks over three decades.

Stratton’s law enforcement career began in 1993 and he held positions in road patrol, investigations, SWAT and administrative leadership before becoming chief, according to the Clermont Sheriff’s official biography page.

His educational background includes criminal justice studies and advanced training in public safety leadership.
