Update: In an update, the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies with the department responded at the airport around 4:05pm EDT after reports of shots being fired. The individual who fired the shot has been taken into custody, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Officials confirmed that it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. The Miami International Airport confirmed that all passengers were safe. The traffic at the airport was briefly affected by the incident but is returning to normal now, MDSCO said.

Reports from local police scanner indicated that a shot was fired at the flood near Gate 17 of the airport. A suspect is reportedly in custody, and no one is hurt in the incident.
