New Delhi: Indian Congress Overseas President Sam Pitroda said the raw talent in India’s IT industry ends up serving others and the country itself cannot utilize it, drawing sharp criticism from India. bjpcalling this another example of the opposition party bashing India.“We have young talent, but it’s still primitive. What happened to the software industry? We created a lot of talent, but it ended up helping multinational companies around the world… We couldn’t benefit. We couldn’t create a social media network, a company like Microsoft, or even an operating system,” he said in remarks that went viral online. “We use our talents to serve others,” Pitroda said. He said that while the United States is the undisputed leader in artificial intelligence, with China not far behind, other countries have not made any progress despite making loud noises.BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla hit back. “So, after the topless act in Congress, now it’s Sam Pitroda, chief advisor to the Laskhkar-e-Congress,” he said, referring to the controversial topless protest by youth Congress members at the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit on Friday. He accused Pitroda of lying to attack India. He mentioned operating systems such as BOSS Linux, Maya OS and Prime OS. “Unfortunately, the Congress’s only mission is to topple Bharat with lies,” a BJP official said.
