Two terrorists affiliated to Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed in an ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in a remote forest area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district after the troops, according to J&K Police, IB A search operation was launched in the snowy Chhatru forest on intelligence from and other sources; officials said militants hiding in mud huts at the foot of the hill opened fire on the advancing team, leading to a fierce exchange of fire between the two sides. Delhi Police said that in follow-up operations, six suspects were detained at various locations in Tamil Nadu and two suspects were detained in West Bengal, and dozens of mobile phones and SIM cards were seized for analysis. Investigators believe the group communicated through social media, posting content in support of Pakistani groups, and that the four had earlier traveled to Delhi to put up “Free Kashmir” posters at a metro station during an international summit before returning to Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
