Renowned singer-songwriter Dolly Parton has passed away at the age of 80. The announcement was made by her nephew, Brian Seaver, in a video shared on Parton’s Instagram account. She was 80 years old.
“My name is Brian Seaver, son of Cassie Parton, and I’m representing the Parton and Owens family today, announcing the passing of my aunt, Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean, Sister, Sis and Granny to one generation and Gigi to the next,” he stated in the video. “This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago, before I fully absorbed it as a future reality.”

The singer known for her 9-5 hit encountered Dean outside a laundromat on her initial day in Nashville, where she had arrived as an 18-year-old with dreams of becoming a singer.
Parton, now 79, reminisced about their first encounter, stating, “I was surprised and delighted that while he talked to me, he looked at my face (a rare thing for me). He seemed to be genuinely interested in finding out who I was and what I was about.”
Two years later, on May 30, 1966, the pair tied the knot in a private ceremony held in Ringgold, Georgia.
During the course of their marriage, Dean opted to stay away from the public spotlight, preferring to concentrate on his asphalt-paving enterprise in Nashville.

“She got this terrible crush on my husband,” Parton said. “And he just loved going to the bank because she paid him so much attention. I don’t believe we’ve got that kind of money.’ So it’s really an innocent song all around, but sounds like a dreadful one.”
