Nancy Guthrie update: ‘Investigator’ flags Annie’s special gesture for Tommaso Cioni amid search for kidnapped mom
A self-styled investigator drew attention to a special gesture Annie Guthrie made towards husband Tommaso Cioni. The post from Jonathan Lee Riches or JLR came amid the search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.
Nancy Guthrie, the mother of TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing from her Catalina Foothills home near Tucson, Arizona, on February 1. Authorities believe she was taken the night before. It has been over six months since the disappearance and no suspects have been publicly named.
This has led to plenty of speculations and a lot has been directed towards Nancy’s other daughter, Savannah’s sister, Annie Guthrie, and her husband Tommaso Cioni. This came after former NewsNation journalist Ashleigh Banfield reported that Tommaso might be a suspect in the case. However, it continued to persist long after Banfield’s claim was junked by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff Chris Nanos later clarified that none of the Guthrie family members were suspects in the matter.
However, interest in Annie and Tommaso has gone on, because it was reported that Nancy had dinner with Annie the night before she was reported missing and Tommaso then reportedly dropped her home in their vehicle. This made the couple among the last people to see Nancy before the kidnapping.
Amid public scrutiny, details about Annie and Tommaso’s lives have come to the forefront, including the former’s poetry. She taught courses on poetry at the University of Arizona Poetry Center. Now, JLR has flagged a gesture for husband Tommaso Cioni in Annie’s poetic endeavors.

Annie’s poems have been receiving fresh attention online as many try to link words in her works to the Nancy Guthrie case. Notably, no discernable link exists since authorities have made it clear that no Guthrie family member had anything to do with the disappearance.
With excerpts from Annie’s poems being circulated online, JLR pointed to her gesture for Tommaso.
“Annie Guthrie dedicates her book for Tommaso. Where’s Nancy Guthrie?”, the self-styled investigator wrote. In Annie’s poetry book, The Good Dark, the dedication reads ‘To Tommaso’, referring to her husband.

Many reacted to the excerpts of Annie’s poetry. “So Weird!,” one person remarked. Another asked “Where’s Annie & Tomasso?,” amid reports that the couple had moved out of their Tucson home as streamers and media have flocked to the neighborhood due to interest in the Nancy Guthrie case.
Yet another observed “That title is interesting.”
