An officer-involved shooting was reported in Pensacola, Florida, on Wednesday afternoon. Pensacola police showed up at the Carlton Palms on Garden Street.

“We are investigating an officer-involved shooting and have a heavy police presence in the area of ​​Garden Street and N Alcaniz Street. Exit 1C of Interstate 110 to Garden Street is closed. Westbound Garden Street from Tarragona to Alcaniz is also closed. This post will be updated with available information,” Pensacola police wrote on Facebook.
In a later update, they noted that eastbound travel on Via Garden between Tarragona and Alcaniz is now open. “Westbound will be closed until further notice,” they explain on X.
The shooting was reported around 3:45 p.m.

Police said they were confronted by a male suspect after shots were fired inside the building, the publication reported. The shooting reportedly occurred on the first floor.
When the suspect walked out, police eventually confronted him.
The suspect was shot and wounded and was reportedly being treated at the scene. The publication also shared photos from the shooting scene.
Authorities were reportedly cleaning up the building, but based on initial reports, no one was believed to have been injured in the incident.
