Indian-origin athlete hit by drunk driver in Ohio, Warren Kennedy Football world mourns death of Sarosh Sheth

Indian-American student and athlete Sharosh Sheth was killed after being run over by a Ford Mustang in Ohio.

Sarosh Seth, 21, was killed in a car accident in Ohio when a Ford Mustang ran over him as he was walking on the road. The incident occurred at around 2:40 pm on Wednesday and Seth has been identified. The driver sped through the intersection on North High Street, ran a red light and struck two people on the pavement near the intersection. The car then sped into a Kroger parking lot and came to rest on top of a parked car with a person inside.The pedestrians were taken to a local hospital, where one, Seth, was pronounced dead. The occupants of the parked vehicle were in stable condition. The driver was treated for injuries and arrested, but has not yet been charged.

Authorities have charged the driver with driving under the influence, which is equivalent to driving under the influence in Ohio. Investigators said alcohol and/or narcotics are believed to have contributed to the crash, although toxicology testing is pending. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.The son of medical parents, Sheth is majoring in neuroscience, Ohio State University said. “Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this extremely difficult time,” the university said.Prior to attending Ohio State University, Sheth was a student at Warren Kennedy High School, where he was a standout varsity football player and kicker for the Eagles football team.“The Warren Kennedy football community is devastated by the heart-wrenching news of Sarosh Shays’ passing,” Buente said in a statement. “I have no words to express how grateful I am for his former teammates, coaches, administrators, classmates and seniors,” Eagles head coach Damon Buente said. “But I can and will say this – Sarosh truly embodies what it means to be a Warren Kennedy Eagle.”
