Ramona Fire: Evacuations around Creelman Lane due to rapidly spreading brush fire; view map, video
Brush fire in Ramona california San Diego County has triggered evacuations in the Creelman Lane area. The fire has now spread to 30 acres. According to duty responsibilities. The San Diego County Fire Department confirmed the fire broke out in a residential area and threatened buildings.
Multiple Cal Fire fire trucks are responding. The fire is spreading at a “critical to dangerous rate and is burning with light to moderate fuel,” according to Incident Command.
The area around Creelman Lane has been evacuated and is at alert level 3, while some areas are at alert level 2 and may soon be upgraded. The exact location of the fire is 300 Block of Creelman Lane, Ramona.
A temporary evacuation center was set up at Ramona High School on Hanson Lane. Authorities say the Ramona Rodeo on Aqua Lane provides shelter for large animals.
As of now, there is no information on containment.
Creelman Fire Map: Check Evacuation Zones
The Creelman Fire in Ramona triggered evacuations around Creelman Lake. Level 3 evacuation Warnings were issued for areas north of Creelman Lane and further east and north as the fire continued to spread. To the east, evacuations extended from the Creelman Lake area to Gunn Stage Road.
To the north, the warning extends all the way to Julian Road, crossing the Old Julian Highway. All areas around the Visa Ramona Expressway are also under a Level 3 evacuation warning.
Meanwhile, areas north and south of Hanson Lane were placed on alert level 2 “remain”. It advises residents to remain alert and evacuate if the alert escalates. Alert Level 2 also covers the area north of Creelman Lane, around Gem Lane and Ashley Road.

Residents shared photos and videos of the fast-moving wildfires on social media. Black smoke from the fire was visible across the city and as far away as Escondido.
