Tornado confirmed near Wausau-Mosinee, Wisconsin, on alert; scary video emerges – Latest Updates

“Tornado Warning (8:04 PM) At 8:04 PM Central Time, a confirmed tornado was located 5 miles southwest of Mosinee, or 17 miles south of Wausau, moving east at 40 mph. Please seek shelter!” wrote.

Video of the tornado was also shared X.

There are also weather robot notifications on X read “Law enforcement has confirmed that a tornado is on the ground in southwest Marathon County, Wisconsin, and is moving east toward Stratford and Mosinee. Multiple schools and mobile home parks are in the direct path. Take shelter in your lowest-level indoor room now!” it additional “Observers confirmed this tornado was near Mosinee and was moving toward Stevens Point at 830 p.m. Take cover immediately, mobile homes and roofs are at risk. Warning in effect until 845 p.m. CDT.”

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service (NWS) noted that a tornado warning is in effect for Mosinee, Wisconsin until 8:15 PM CDT (9:15 PM ET). They shared a map of the areas that may be affected.

A storm chaser also shared an update on the situation in Wausau. “Confirmed tornado south of Wausau, Wisconsin moving at 40 mph! Observers are watching it moving through Marathon County. Seek shelter immediately!” they wrote On X. Another person replied to a Fox6 meteorologist, explain “Trackers filmed the tornado on the ground near Wausau for twelve minutes and then issued a warning! They said it was so weird because the radar didn’t show it was supposed to be there.”

A photo of what was purported to be a tornado was also shared online.

“OTUS was deployed on the tornado but was too far out in the forest to risk it, and the drone confirmed the tornado was fully condensed on the ground east of Marton, Wisconsin,” the person who posted the photo wrote.

Another video of the tornado was posted on Facebook.

While these landspouts may persist in the short term, we have storms to the southwest earlier due to a combination of factors (a cold front weakening the storm, a cap in the atmosphere – or warm air aloft and stable air coming in from the ground). “

“This is a bit weird…they don’t look like real supercell structures,” one commented. “They’re sounding sirens in Stevens Point right now,” another added. Meanwhile, another said, “The main storm with lightning is the Wausaukee storm.”
