Clayton ‘Morgan Fire’: Mount Diablo fire spreads rapidly in Contra Costa, Calif. – Check out the map, visuals

According to duty responsibilitiesthe fire was located near Morgan Territory Road and Marsh Creek Road in Clayton. The fire started about 25 miles southwest of the densely populated Diablo Mountains area.
As a result, many Mount Diablo residents reported smoke from fires in the city due to strong winds in the area.
So far, the fire has spread to 125 acres, and dozens of fire trucks have reported, according to Watch Duty. As of now, evacuation orders have not been issued and the fire has not threatened the building.
Contra Costa County Fire/Cal Fire is calling the fire the “Morgan Fire” due to its proximity to Morgan Territory Road.

Clayton is located in east-central Contra Costa County, at the eastern foothills of Mount Diablo. The fire broke out near the Diablo Mountain Mine, west of Oak Hill Trail and Morgan Territory Road. The location is a sparsely populated mountainous area in northern California. Therefore, there is no immediate threat to buildings or habitations.

Locals shared photos and videos of the 125-acre fire on social media. A thick plume of black smoke could be seen in the Diablo Mountains area. Fire department helicopters were also seen conducting an aerial response to the rapidly spreading blaze. As of now, it’s unclear how the fire started. There were no reports of injuries.
A video shared by the local Fox TV affiliate showed smoke and fire department helicopters circling the area in an attempt to contain the spread of the fire.

Mount Diablo is a protected state park without any permanent residents. There is a local community of approximately 1,000 people near Diablo.
