According to the Rapid City Fire Department, the fire broke out near Flormann and Skyline Drive around 6:30 p.m. The fire continued to spread, threatening nearby buildings and forcing the evacuation of several homes.
“Crews are responding to a fast-moving timber and grass fire reported near Froman and Skyline avenues around 6:30 p.m.,” the department said in a Facebook post. “The fire threatened structures and multiple homes were evacuated.”
