'Will hit deeper': Trump warns Iran as Tehran vows 'no American soldier will come back alive'
The United States and Iran warned each other of impending escalation

U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States “may” launch more strikes against Iran later on Wednesday, warning Washington to be prepared to strike deeper and take over Kharg Island if needed.“They behave very badly and have done so for 47 years,” Trump told reporters in Ankara on the eve of a NATO summit. “We hit them hard last night after they fired drones and missiles at ships in the Strait of Hormuz. We may hit them again tonight.”Trump said the U.S. military was targeting drones, missiles, coastal defense facilities, radars and surveillance systems. “Anything they think they’ve rebuilt or the capabilities they’re using were targeted last night. Tonight, if we need to… we’re going to play more and deeper. “He also said the United States had attacked Iran’s power infrastructure. “We hit their power. We hit the facilities they need to operate,” he said, adding that if Iran continues its actions, more infrastructure could be targeted. Trump also said Washington might reimpose a naval blockade and “possibly take over Kharg Island.”

Trump calls Iran deal ‘over’

Trump said the United States may abandon efforts to reach a nuclear deal with Iran, saying the United States can achieve its goals even without a deal. “I don’t know if we’re going to get a deal. We might get a deal without a deal because you know what, it’s easier.”He called Iran’s leaders “liars and liars” and accused them of reneging on their promises. “Under our agreement, they will never build a nuclear weapon,” he said. “But I don’t know if we’re going to reach a deal.”Trump also criticized former President Obama’s nuclear deal, calling it “one of the worst tragedies” in the Middle East. “Our deal is a wall to nuclear weapons. His deal is a path to nuclear weapons.”Trump said he remained Tehran’s “number one target.” “They had leaders and they left…and now they have another group of leaders. They could be gone. You know what, I could be gone too because I’m their number one target.”Trump said he did not think full-scale conflict would resume. “I don’t think things will start over again. I think things will happen quickly. They hit a few ships, so we hit them harder. Whatever happens will be over soon. “

Iran’s response

Iran’s foreign minister and other officials issued a series of sharp responses to President Donald Trump’s threats at a NATO summit in Ankara, with Tehran vowing to take action and warning American soldiers they would not come back alive.“We will not respond to vulgarity with vulgarity, but with action: fearless and brave,” Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on X.Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Garibaldi said Tehran must talk to Trump “in his own language” because he better understands “the language of force.”After Trump threatened to invade Khag Island, parliamentary speaker Ibrahim Rezai warned U.S. military personnel: “Not even a single American soldier will come back alive. Come on, we are waiting for you.”The response came after Trump said the United States “could take over Khag Island,” warned of more attacks and declared the Iran deal “over.”
