Nolan Wells update: Family breaks silence, ‘absolutely devastated’ after body found on Horn Island
nolan xavier wells The mother is speaking out on social media after a body was found in the water on the northwest tip of Horn Island on Monday morning, July 6, according to Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter as part of a search for a missing 18-year-old teen. Official identification is still pending, but Ledbetter said the recovery “does fit” the description of Ocean Springs, mississippi as a teenager, according to the New York Post.

Wells’ family confirmed his death via GoFundMe. His mother, Christine Wonsley, wrote on Facebook that the family was “devastated” by the news.
“I want to thank our family, friends, community, Cajun Unified, local law enforcement and everyone who has given me their love, support and resources over the past few days. His father, Elmore Wansley, our family, friends and I are devastated. My heart breaks for our sweet son who was always willing to cheer and inspire others. Nolan was a special soul and God spent time creating our son. I ask that you all please give me and my family privacy as we grieve. Thank you again. God bless,” Kristen wrote.
Nolan Wells is missing
Police have been searching for Wells since he was last seen on Horn Island at around 3pm on Saturday, July 4. joint cajun navy is one of many organizations assisting in the search for the teen. Incident Commander Josh Gill said they were focusing on Wells’ last known location on the east end of Horn Island. Gill told Nola.com that Wells was last seen “with a girl.”
