A New York Post reporter observed that all fires were extinguished within a minute.
A source said the “small” fire broke out on a platform used to launch fireworks, rather than the bridge itself, the outlet reported. The 143-year-old bridge remains “safe and structurally sound,” sources said. The New York Fire Department said two engines extinguished the blaze.
