Los Robles hospital shooting: Ventura County officials provide details of incident involving officer; what we know so far
A shooting involving a Simi Valley police officer at Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County, california Thursday afternoon.

Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell said at X the public was safe. “My staff and I are following developments at Los Robles Hospital in Newbury Park and were briefed by the deputy on the incident.” update says. “The public is safe. The Sheriff will issue a statement and information update soon.”
ventura county star report Ventura County Sheriff Capt. Chris Zapata said the shooting involved a Simi Valley Police Department officer. Police were alerted to the incident around 12:20 p.m. PDT.
Additionally, the Simi Valley Police Chief confirmed the officer’s involvement. Greg Gonzalez described it as a “family incident.” No further details about the triggering incident were released.
The hospital also acknowledged the incident and confirmed that all patients and staff were safe. “As this remains an active investigation, any questions regarding this incident should be directed to the appropriate law enforcement agency,” Los Robles spokesperson Megan Merino told the Ventura County Star-Telegram in an email.
