Jason Watson, a United States Air Force An active-duty officer who is currently a Major is capitol building building in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday. Major Watson protested Trump’s alleged violations of the War Powers Act and called for the 79-year-old’s impeachment.

Watson demonstrated on the steps of the Capitol, holding a placard that read “Impeach, Convict, Deport” and targeted President Trump. Major Watson arrested by Capitol Police because protesting on steps is illegal for non-members of Congress United States Congress.

Maj. Jason Watson attended a news conference on the steps of the Capitol on behalf of the Expulsion Coalition, a group calling for Trump’s impeachment. Thursday’s press conference was led by Texas Rep. Al Green, a member of the Deportation Coalition, and Major Watson was also part of the press conference. However, after Rep. Al Green left the scene, Capitol Police asked Watson to leave the scene as well. Watson then allegedly refused to vacate the house.

“The man refused our lawful orders and was arrested for Crowding, Obstruction and Obstruction 22-1307,” a Capitol Police spokesperson said.old washington times. “It’s important to note that there are many other places within the Capitol where demonstrations are allowed.”

Who is Major Jason Watson?

Deportation Alliance founder Jessica Danson provided more details about Maj. Gen. Jason Watson. Danson said Major Watson is an active duty soldier currently serving as a logistics readiness officer in Poland. She revealed that Watson is currently on leave.

“He spent the better part of 17 years in Europe and around the world, defending this country, working with NATO,” she said, adding that Watson contacted the Expulsion Alliance in February and asked them to organize Thursday’s press conference and demonstration. Although Al Green joined them, and although many Democrats were prominent members of the expulsion coalition, Major Watson said he was not one of them.

“I’m not a Democrat,” he said, then mentioned Al Green, adding, “I know next to nothing about his policies.” He continued: “I stand with him because Rep. Green is the only member of Congress who has shown the courage and conviction to invoke Title IX and force a vote on articles of impeachment.”

“The president and vice president must be impeached, convicted and removed from office,” he added.
