A U.S. Navy MH-60S Seahawk helicopter made an emergency water landing in the Arabian Sea on Tuesday, with one crew member still missing as search operations continue, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) said.In a statement posted onThe command said there was “no indication that the emergency was caused by hostilities” at a time when regional tensions are rising due to the recent U.S.-Iran conflict.Three of the helicopter’s four crew members were rescued and are in stable condition aboard the USS George H.W. Bush, according to the Naval Center. U.S. Navy assets deployed in the area are continuing to search for the fourth sailor who remains missing. The cause of the incident is under investigation.A few days ago, a fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran eased concerns about a wider regional conflict. The truce led to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and a drop in global oil prices, temporarily easing pressure on energy markets. However, analysts cited by Reuters warned that the ceasefire may be tactical rather than lasting. Longstanding disputes over Iran’s nuclear program, regional influence and U.S. sanctions remain unresolved, although the two sides agreed to hold talks within the next 60 days. Despite the positive market reaction so far, uncertainty remains over the durability of the truce.
