Troopers with the Massachusetts State Police pointed their weapons at the truck and appeared to be confronting a suspect. The pickup truck may or may not be occupied.

CBS News reported that the stopped vehicle was linked to the shooting in Berlin.

What’s happening on I-495 in Lowell?

Authorities did not release some details about the police operation.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) confirmed that both northbound and southbound lanes of I-495 in Lowell are closed due to heavy police activity. As police secured control of the area, officers diverted northbound traffic at Exit 89 and southbound traffic at Exit 92. No timetable for reopening was immediately announced.
