Russia launches new attacks in Dnipro and Zaporozhye, Ukraine, killing at least 9
Dnipro, Zaporozhye and Kharkiv were all major industrial centers and were attacked by Russia on several occasions during the war.

Russian missiles, drones and glide bombs struck across Ukraine on Monday, killing at least nine people and injuring dozens more in attacks that hit several major cities as rescue operations continued and the toll continued to rise throughout the day.The deadliest attack occurred in the southeastern city of Dnipro, where a Russian missile killed five people and wounded 29 others, according to regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha.Photos shared by Hanza showed the back door of a passenger minibus blown out, windows of a nearby building shattered and a blurry body next to the stairs.“Russia launched a missile attack on Dnipro, targeting infrastructure,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on X, adding that emergency workers were working at the scene.“Europe must develop its own anti-ballistic defense – its own systems and missiles – as aggressively as possible,” he said.A Russian drone crashed into a passenger minibus in the southern Zaporozhye region, killing two men and a woman. Eight other people were injured, including a seven-year-old boy, regional authorities said.Video released by Governor Ivan Fedorov showed a white minibus with blood on the floor and a damaged rear door, with the body of one of the victims still inside.Later that day, another Russian attack hit a civilian truck in Zaporozhye, causing it to burst into flames. Fedorov said the attack caused no casualties.A Russian glide bomb killed a 23-year-old woman and injured 10 others in northeastern Kharkiv region, local officials said.Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the strike damaged a tram and more than 15 cars. Less than an hour later, a second glide bomb landed but failed to explode.Dnipro, Zaporozhye and Kharkiv are all major industrial centers that have been attacked by Russia several times during the war, now in its fifth year.Russia had no immediate comment on Monday’s attack.Thousands of Ukrainian civilians have been killed since the conflict began. Moscow also accuses Ukraine of carrying out attacks on Russia and civilian targets in Russian-occupied territory, albeit on a much smaller scale. Both sides deny deliberately targeting civilians.
