Sunday’s St. Louis City 2 vs. Austin FC II MLS NEXT Pro match at Energizer Park has been suspended due to a shooting nearby, STL Football News reports.

Reports from attendees and social media updates said shootings occurred in or around Energizer Park during the game.

Witnesses described chaotic scenes inside the stadium, with some saying fans were hiding near the concourse and seating areas.
A witness said, “There was chaos at the St. Louis CITY2 game and someone outside the main entrance started shooting at the gate. We got through the gate 2 minutes before it happened. I’m not sure if anyone was hurt. We had to take shelter in the lobby.”
Another person reported, “Well… new experiences unlocked. There’s nothing better than going to a City 2 game and the next thing you know you’re lying on the ground and your kids hear gunshots going off around you. There was a shooting around Maggiore. Bullets were found inside the stadium.”
A third witness wrote: “During the City2 game there was a shooting in Energizer Park around us. Everyone was evacuating underneath the stadium.”
