A Pakistani delivery driver who raped a vulnerable woman shortly after she left a West Sussex hospital has been jailed for eight years and three months.Suleman Mukaish, 27, who lives in the UK on a student visa, carried out the attack in a car park near Worthing Hospital on March 11 after approaching the woman, Hove Crown Court heard, according to the BBC.The court heard the woman tried to hold on to the wall and Mukesh grabbed her, forced her onto the bonnet of the car and raped her.The victim was discovered shortly afterwards by a member of the public who reported she had been raped. After the police were called, the woman identified the vehicle involved. Investigators later recovered a hand and fingerprints from the car.Mukesh was arrested at Gatwick Airport two days after the attack and found to be in possession of a one-way ticket to Pakistan. He later admitted the rape at an earlier court hearing.Sentencing him on Tuesday, Judge Christine Henson KC said the victim was at her “most vulnerable moment” when she was attacked by a stranger as she had just left a car park next to the hospital. The judge said the woman had been severely psychologically affected, adding that she was unable to return to hospital as the incident continued to trigger flashbacks.During the case, Mukesh claimed that he stopped to help the woman after seeing her in trouble. He has graduation leave to stay in the UK until 2028.As well as being jailed, Mukesh will also receive a three-year license extension upon his release.
