“This is our absolute, top priority,” said one person who followed up. “The cause of the incident is unknown. A formal investigation will be conducted to determine the circumstances of the incident.”
Sitka is a coastal city on the west side of Baranof Island in southeastern Alaska, on the Gulf of Alaska. It is located approximately 95 miles southwest of Juneau and is primarily accessible by plane or ferry.
