Terry often spoke of his unusual childhood and the influence of his parents on his creative life. He told ICON magazine that his parents worked in the circus in their early years.
“I grew up traveling. Both of my parents worked in the circus, so we traveled all over the place until I was 12 years old and we landed in Santa Cruz, California,” Tree told ICON. He added that music was a constant presence at home, with instruments covering the walls of their RV when they traveled.

The musician was previously linked to singer-songwriter Melanie Martinez. On camera, Terry spoke candidly about his relationship with Martinez. “I dated another artist, and when we broke up, her fans came after me,” Terry said.

According to preliminary reports, two helicopters collided in the air at an electric vehicle parking lot on Sunday morning. A fire broke out in the parking lot, damaging 18 to 20 cars.
Rio Fire Department Lieutenant Colonel Fabio Contreiras told CNN Brazil that the helicopter carrying the tree was found completely destroyed by the fire. “Parts of the plane are scattered hundreds of meters away, so the information we have is still very preliminary,” he said.
His latest album, Love You Madly, Hate You So Bad, was released earlier this year. He had reportedly been preparing for an international tour before news of the crash broke.
