Tiffany Butler, a resident of Splash, Montgomery County, faces felony charges after authorities accuse her of fraudulently obtaining public assistance benefits and submitting false documents to government agencies.
Butler, 31, was arrested on Thursday, June 11.

1. Tiffany Butler charged following welfare fraud investigation. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Butler was arrested following an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit.
Authorities are working with the Department of Social Services and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. Authorities later charged her with welfare fraud and false billing.
2. Butler was accused of improperly accepting public benefits. According to investigators, Butler allegedly received break Benefits over $50,000. Officials claim the benefits were received over an extended period of time, from August 2022 to June 2026.
3. Butler withheld information about her family. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Butler failed to declare all persons living in her home, as well as all employment and income. According to the announcement, she is not eligible to receive the $50,525.00 in SNAP benefits she received.
4. Butler faces multiple felony charges. Butler was charged with one count of second-degree welfare fraud and eight counts of first-degree providing a false document.
