According to the Los Angeles Police Department, law enforcement officers arrived at a residence Wednesday morning after receiving a 911 call in which the caller said: “I am the Son of Man and I just killed sinners.”
When officers arrived, they were approached by a man claiming to be the person they were looking for, according to police. The man, Michael Gledhill, 44, lives at the residence with his mother, who is his girlfriend. convenientas the police said.
Gledhill is being held on suspicion of murder with bail set at $2 million. The motive behind the attack is currently unclear.
It is unclear whether he has legal representation. Jail records do not indicate he has an attorney.
A spokesman for Handy confirmed his death.
“It is with great sadness that I can confirm that the gentleman who was attacked and murdered in Tarzana on Wednesday was actor James Handy,” Handy’s agent, Pam Ellis-Eveners, said in a formal statement.
