Senate hopeful Graham Plattner The Maine native was at the center of the sexting controversy, and now disturbing posts from his largely deleted Reddit account have surfaced. Previously, the Wall Street Journal reported that Plattner’s wife had broken her silence. Amy GertnerIt had previously been claimed her husband exchanged sexually explicit text messages with other women during their marriage.
“You don’t have much experience with Latin American prostitutes, do you?” Plattner responded to a user who expressed concerns about Colombian prostitutes in a post on Reddit, according to the New York Post .
“I’ve heard about the stupid sentiments that are being created around the world [sic] army. “If you can’t stay loyal to your wife, how can you stay loyal to your comrades?” he wrote in another story about a Secret Service officer paying prostitutes. “Well, I have a lot of good friends who lie and cheat on women but take a shot at tough men at work.”
“I find this sentiment is only held by moral relativists who need something to cry about, and smart people realize they are not mutually exclusive,” he added.

Plattner also downplayed sexual assault in Reddit posts, defended soldiers urinating on dead Taliban soldiers, called war “the most pleasurable experience,” mused on male genitalia graffiti, and argued that white Americans are “actually” racist and stupid, the outlet reported.
He also faced controversy surrounding the now-covered tattoo one of skullconsidered a Nazi symbol. He is running for the seat of five-term Republican Sen. Susan Collins.

Plattner’s team began conducting opposition research on him to unveil new information during his Senate bid after launching his campaign last August ahead of a Labor Day rally with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. At the time, Gertner and Genevieve McDonald, the campaign’s political director at the time, revealed she discovered sexually explicit messages he sent to other women on his phone in the spring of 2025. The two subsequently began marriage counseling, and campaign aides considered the information a private matter.
Plattner spoke to NEWS CENTER Maine after a campaign stop in Portland on Sunday, June 1, with his wife by his side, Dismissal of charges.
“It’s not surprising to me that the mainstream media is just spreading gossip instead of trying to talk about what’s really important in this game, which is the physical reality that Meiners is dealing with,” Plattner said.
