According to the Mayo Clinic, this condition involves thickening of the heart muscle, which hinders the heart’s ability to pump blood efficiently.

G1 reported that local authorities are still investigating the circumstances of Ganley’s death, and the official cause of death has not yet been determined. The local SSP (Secretariat of Public Security) said law enforcement is currently awaiting the results of a forensic examination from the IML (Institute of Forensic Medicine) to determine the official cause of death.

Earlier, CNN Brazil reported that a friend found Ganley dead in the kitchen of his Sao Paulo apartment and that there were no “obvious signs of violence” evident at the scene. The athlete’s body was discovered after his family and friends were unable to contact him for about two days, G1 said, citing police reports.
