Nanos previously claimed that all communications with Savannah and her siblings, Anne and Karen, were through other investigators working on the case. Nanos told PEOPLE that he has not been in contact with the family “personally” and that they have been communicating with local police detectives and FBI agents.

“If they need anything from their families, they’ll get in touch with them and the families. It goes both ways,” he said.

“It’s very frustrating for Savannah,” an insider told Naughty But Nice. “She expected urgent and direct communication. Instead, she felt the investigation became distant and procedural.”

The report also claimed Savannah hires private detective Searching for her missing mother. “Savannah is doing whatever it takes to keep the search going,” a source said on Tuesday, May 26. “She refuses to rely solely on law enforcement.”

According to the report, insiders told Naughty But Nice that Savannah “continues to fund a massive private search effort” more than 100 days after Nancy disappeared. Savannah assembled a team of private investigators, former federal agents and security experts who worked around the clock to follow leads in her mother’s case, they said. Friends claim the Today host is “increasingly frustrated” with the pace of the official investigation.

Sources say Savannah has refused to consider downsizing, even as the costs of maintaining private operations have become enormous.

“Money doesn’t matter to her right now,” an insider said. “This is about finding her mother. If there were more investigators, more security or more resources to help, she would continue to pay for it.”

“She still believes her mom can be found,” the source added. “That’s why private investigators are still working every day.”
