Police have released shocking new information about the events that led to the disappearance of Will and Wesley Richman, two Utah brothers who were allegedly kidnapped by their father, Dane Stephen Richman. Amber Alerts remain in effect for missing persons Saratoga Springs children.

Authorities have launched a search for two brothers aged two who went missing after their “severely depressed” father skipped a custody exchange. Utah Saturday, May 23, according to the New York Post.

Dann, 46, was charged kidnapping His two sons, Will, who is about to be two years old, and Wesley, who is ten months old. The children have not been seen since Richman picked them up from their mother’s home in Shelton, Washington, on May 16.

“Concerns are raised for the safety and well-being of the children as the suspect suffered from severe depression, sold his possessions, faced financial stress and abandoned his home,” the Amber Alert said.

Dane was charged with two counts of custodial interference, a third-degree felony, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. It is believed he may have crossed into Mexico, ABC4 reported. After the Amber Alert was issued, police obtained a warrant for Dane’s arrest.

In the alert, Dane, 46, is described as white, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 195 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He is believed to be driving a black Toyota Camry with Utah license plate number A561HL. The car may be a newer model and may have temporary tags that are not visible.

Dane disappeared while he and his ex-partner were embroiled in a custody dispute. He is expected to hand the children over to their mother on Saturday at their home in Saratoga Springs, Utah. However, he never showed up, according to an Amber Alert issued by the Utah Department of Public Safety.

Dane was “severely depressed,” facing financial ruin and “abandoned his home after selling his property,” the alert said. It states the children may be “in imminent danger of serious bodily harm or death”.

The Saratoga Springs Police Department said Dane first picked up the children from their mother in Washington state on May 16. This was supposed to be his scheduled visitation time. Just days ago, Dane suddenly resigned.

New information in charging documents says Dane may have been in Carlsbad, California, on May 18. Federal law enforcement information indicates he crossed into Mexico on May 19, ABC4 reported.

The children’s mother contacted Saratoga Springs police around 10:45 a.m. on May 22 because Dane had missed testimony at a 10 a.m. custody hearing and requested a wellness check on him. Police visited the residence but no one was home. However, there was “no indication of cause for concern”.

The next day, May 23, the children’s mother contacted police again because Dane had missed a scheduled visit to his home at 12 noon. Police began canvassing the area and speaking with neighbors to determine when the Richmans were last seen. They began working to obtain a search warrant for Dane Richman’s residence and place his and the children’s information on the National Crime Information Center database.

Later that night, the Police Department issued an AMBER Alert for all digital signs on Utah highways. An alert was sent to all phones in Utah around 7:30 a.m. on May 24.

After the Amber Alert was issued, a warrant was obtained for Dane’s arrest.
