Bain Fire map and evacuation update: Brush fire near Jurupa Valley in Riverside County sends smoke into Corona

A fast-moving brush fire broke out along the Santa Ana River in Riverside County early Tuesday morning, spreading through thick vegetation with no containment in sight as firefighters scrambled to respond.

The fire, officially known as the Bain Fire, reportedly broke out around 11:30 a.m. local time near Bain Street and Limonite Avenue in Mira Loma, along the Santa Ana River Valley near Limonite Boulevard in Jurupa Valley. Cal Fire.

As of noon, the fire had burned at least 20 acres. Cal Fire describes it as “burning in heavy fuels with moderate diffusion rates” and a 0% containment rate. In an effort to extinguish the blaze, 100 personnel were deployed to the scene along with two helicopters and 22 engines.

The strike also calls for two additional aerial tankers and two helicopters, according to the strike company. Watch duty application.
