A shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego on Monday was reported, with helicopter footage showing at least one person wearing a tactical vest appearing to be shot. Minutes after the initial call of the shooting, hundreds of police cars lined up outside the center. A primary school next to the Islamic center was also evacuated by police, as were the adults inside the centre. We currently have extensive resources on scene. We have established a consolidated location at 4125 Hathaway Street, SD, CA 92111.”“Gavin Newsom has been informed of the evolving situation in San Diego’s Claremont neighborhood near the Islamic Center. The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (@Cal_OES) is coordinating with local law enforcement. We thank the first responders on scene for their efforts to protect the community and urge everyone to follow the guidance of local authorities,” a release from Newsom’s press office said.
