Fields spoke about her feelings about testifying against someone who was in the same room with her as she allegedly harassed her.
“I’m not going to lie – I was anxious. I was emotional. I prayed for strength. No mother should have to hear the words that were said to me while I was pregnant with my child. No woman should have to worry about what those who are obsessed with destroying her might do next. Pregnant mothers should look forward to their due date and not fear it out of fear of what will happen,” she said.
Fields added, “Please pray for me tonight and tomorrow morning. Pray that I can say the right things. Pray that I have peace of mind. Pray that my family is protected. Pray that justice is served. No matter how uncomfortable this is, I will not be silent.”
Last October, Fields shared an update on Gilyard’s status, saying he had been extradited to Texas.
