Why would Pratt move his family from Los Angeles if he lost?

Platt has been positioning himself as an outsider candidate in recent months. As a mayoral candidate, Platt focused on public safety, family issues and city cleanliness.

Platt said he has seriously considered relocating if he doesn’t win the election. “I’m going to find a place where my kids don’t have to see naked zombies so I can live out my last slice of the American dream somewhere,” he said of the city’s growing homeless population.

He also criticized what he said were ineffective governance and bureaucratic failures related to homelessness response efforts and crime prevention.

Of his Democratic rivals, he declared: “If these people were in charge, I wouldn’t rebuild. Because what would I put my money into?”

What’s Pratt’s plan if he wins?

Platt told Carolla that if he won, Platt would choose to rebuild his home that was destroyed in the wildfires.

Platt said his choice to run was largely influenced by his experience with wildfires and allegedly ineffective management of the city. He drew on this experience extensively in his campaign, including a widely circulated ad contrasting his living conditions with those of Bass and Rahman.

The ad said Platt was living in an Airstream trailer after his house was destroyed in a fire. However, Platt has reportedly been staying in a hotel since last year’s wildfires.
